Punk Zine & Birthday Greeting

  1. i like the punk zine, how it has color and black and white but i don't think the colors work...i think if you just picked pink, yellow, white, and black for text it would be more effective and visually cohesive rather than those colors and the red.

  2. Did you get please kill me from the title of that book? I've read that book, and it is really cool. If you're at all interested in punk and that whole culture, especially the New York scene, read that book. I agree with Kirslyn, though, the colors are a bit off, but then again, isn't the whole point of the punk movement to jar the viewer and to expose the object-ness of the artwork? Also, if the zine was to represent late 70s/early 80s punk, there probably wouldn't have been a cross over the swastika, but I like how you play with that.

  3. I feel you took effort into making the first image, combining image with the words. The words are cool. However I agree with kirslyn that the color is too crowded in the image.

    The second image looks not related. It looks like some random not-well-sold birthday card you can find in a bookstore.
