Ali's assignment for me was to move away from portraiture and take shots of inanimate things and make them seem animated. I was also playing with scale and perspective.
The texture was very strong in the first two and the last photo. I like your last photo a lot because composition-wise it is from a very unexpected angle and the reflection on the steel just makes it feel so industrial.
In the third and fourth one, the lines you created with your camera were very nice! Good response to the challenge!
Your second image is particularly interesting because the front/lower left is darker but stands out more despite it not being the brightest park of the photo, which is really interesting. I think the subtle change in lighting is neat because it is slight but makes a difference. The fourth image is nice, but it doesn't stand out like the others in this series because its location/subject is easily identifiable compared to the others that get the viewer thinking.
Wow Brittany, these are really cool! I love the first one with that blurred blue, and I also love the lighting in the last picture. You did a great job exploring angles and perspective. Also I definitely get the sense that these inanimate objects have taken on life! Great job.
I love the last one because it looks like some creepy mushroom is growing from the ground to me. I feel you use close up a lot. So maybe you can work on wide angle and explore more with that?
